Devlog #6 - Balance Update v1.71


Sometimes, we get ahead of ourselves. It looks like that's what happened with v1.7 - in all of my excitement and urgency to produce the new version of the game I had imagined, focused on player decisions and featuring brand new mechanics, I overlooked something important - math. Luckily, Pillars: What Remains just so happened to be featured on the r/myrpg Book Club right after I launched v1.7, and while u/forthsect had some really encouraging things to say about it, he also pointed out some real flaws in the math of the game that could easily prevent players from engaging with the core systems of the game. 

v 1.71 is now live and it is my attempt to address this feedback by providing new numbers for Conflict and Echo difficulty, Drift maximums and accumulation and slightly tweaking Push abilities. Together, these should all influence the frequency of Echoes in order to better support the intended player experience.
